Pretty Woman turns 30

The movie Pretty Woman was released 23 March 1990 and, like Casablanca and  The Sound of Music, its popularity strengthens the whole time.  (Interestingly one youngster was so inspired by the actor playing the hotel manager that he switched ambition from becoming a stage name, himself, to aspirations in the hotel industry. He, Daniel Szelényi, is now VP Hospitality for Salzburg Global Seminar and GM of that admirable world-peace organisation’s own hotel, the glorious Schloss Leopoldskron, Salzburg, Austria (www.schloss-leopoldskron.com).

Much of the movie was shot at one of the most famous hotels in the USA, Beverly Wilshire, a Four Seasons Hotel. It has crafted the ultimate, quintessential $300,000 experience reinventing moments from this iconic movie.

The luxurious package features three nights in a signature suite and luxury transportation, and is inclusive of food, beverage and spa. Choose from uniquely tailored treatments at the Forbes Five Star Spa, and dine-around from the Pool Bar & Café to in room dining, and at the see-and-be-seen restaurant THEBlvd. But the ultimate indulgence will be a meet-and-greet with Wolfgang Puck himself, followed by dinner at the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant CUT, for a contemporary twist on the classic steakhouse, the menu highlights various cuts of the finest beef from regions across the globe, as well as shellfish, seafood and an extensive international wine list.

On the second day, embark on a shopping experience with top celebrity stylists at LALALUXE, because not making style dreams become reality would be a “big mistake. Big. Huge!” The experience begins with an interview with the stylist to understand tastes, preferences and size before heading up Rodeo Drive for shopping  at four luxury boutiques. The red carpet will be rolled out at each destination with light bites, drinks and a $50,000 credit to spend on clothing, shoes and accessories. When hunger strikes, savour a champagne and caviar lunch on a private rooftop overlooking Rodeo Drive while a live pianist performs music from the Pretty Woman soundtrack as models wearing iconic looks with a 2020 twist from the feature provide a personal fashion show. The hardest question to answer during lunch? Which diamond accessory to take home as a lasting memento from this experience. Each and every moment on this shopping fairy tale will be captured by a paparazzi-style photographer.

The next day, delight in a “glam” session with the celebrity stylists at Lea Journo Salon. Enjoy a private hair styling and make-up application in anticipation of the same day trip to San Francisco via NetJets to attend the opera. As the worldwide leader in private aviation, NetJets offers guests a superior service-oriented culture that enhances the travel experience, making it not only effortless, but memorable. Enjoy the coastal aerial view from 40,000 feet while sipping on THEBlvd’s signature Feeling Pretty cocktail, inspired by the movie.

On the final evening, relish in an outdoor, rooftop cinema experience on the Hotel’s Rodeo Terrace, for the ultimate date night. Watch Pretty Woman in this intimate setting overlooking exclusive views of Rodeo Drive, while sipping on champagne. A butler is always nearby to assist.  The package is available through 31 December 2020.
